How to Celebrate St.Patrick's Day

Category : Food, Holiday

In a few short days on March 17, the world will be celebrating a popular Irish holiday called Saint Patrick’s Day. Those that fear to be pinched will be dressed in green-colored clothing or carrying an item that is green. Cities all over America go wild with green from painting the traffic stripe of the parade route to dumping green dyes into their river to show their Irish spirits.

Growing up, this holiday meant going to mass and not attending class. Hooray! No homework! The best thing was the lunch they served afterward because unlike regular cafeteria food, today was really special. It was corned beef and cabbage.

As I got older, St. Patrick’s Day was a time for get-together, parties, pot-luck and of course, beer. Most people would be getting off work early to hit “happy hours” with their co-workers and drinking a glass or 2 of Guinness. No matter how you decide to celebrate either with shamrocks or leprechaun, the most important thing is to have fun. Laugh away all your worries, dance to the beautiful sound of Irish music and enjoyed the companies of loved one. And remember if you drink, be responsible. Call a taxi, catch the bus or even ride the train. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!
